Overnight Residence Camp for Children with Type 1 or type 2 Diabetes

Camp Ho Mita Koda offers 6-day, or 13-day overnight programs for children and adolescents with type 1 or type 2 diabetes ages 8-15.  Programs are specially designed for campers to self-manage their diabetes through personal responsibility, healthy choices and a life-long network of friends.  Campers participate in favorite camp activities such as swimming, kayaking, canoeing, arts and crafts, horseback riding, drama, archery, team sports, and more.

Around-the-clock care and supervision is the top priority at Camp Ho Mita Koda. An on-site licensed medical team oversees the diabetes management of each camper.  A registered dietitian plans the meals and snacksTrained program specialists and camp counselors - many who have diabetes and who were campers themselves - nurture an atmosphere of fun and learning.
